Cognito's inventor Clay Rankin featured in Business Alabama magazine

Fairhope, Ala. (Aug. 24, 2021) — Cognito Legal Workflow Software and its inventor Clay Rankin have been profiled in the latest issue of Business Alabama. The publication is read by over 50,000 executives, managers, professionals, and business owners from across the state each month.

In the article by Alec Harvey entitled, “Fairhope lawyer develops Cognito software to help keep attorneys organized,” Rankin discusses his motivations for - at age 77 - launching a web-based start-up designed to help attorneys save time.

“Pundits say we lose about half a day in a five-day workweek looking for things we already have,” Rankin says in the interview with Business Alabama. Cognito aims to change all of that with its revolutionary new online solution.

The profile of Rankin, a practicing attorney for over 40 years, cites his love for technology even as a young lawyer. He purchased one of the first Apple personal computers back in 1979 and has sought digital solutions ever since. The creation of Cognito has been a logical development in the mind of a lawyer who has always considered himself an early adopter.

Cognito Legal Workflow Software was released in March 2021 at the American Bar Association Tech Show. The company's mission is to simplify workflow and effectively capture, create, collaborate, and preserve knowledge across professional sectors.
