Recording system of your firm suits the type of work being recorded. Cognito FiLOS has multiple methods of recording time, combined with a comprehensive range of monitoring, reporting and management tools essential for the successful running of the day to day law firm.

Fee Earner Time Recording

Fee Earner Timers - have been built into the various “view formats” that are available within the system as standard, whether it is the VIEW of the Fee Earner, Partner or Practice Wide VIEW providing a true and real-time understanding of billable time in an instant. We have a Fee Earner Desktop interface called My View which offers an instant timer facility.
 
The click of a button launches a Time Recording Timer which then offers a notes area, number of units display, description, Time Activity. The system can have multiple timers active at any one time so switching between tasks is easy and can also cater for the booking of non-chargeable time.

Case Management - Timer Recording against the case

Case Time Recording
When working within a case, the system can automatically detect which task/event is being performed and can prompt a Fee Earner to book the appropriate time or can book the time automatically against a pre-defined practice rate for that client or area of work. Any area of
 work can have time recorded either on an ad-hoc basis or by a defined basis which will be setup at the installation of the system and based on the defined requirements of the practice and how it works.
